Exciting News: Apple Launches New Public Beta for iOS, Unveiling Surprises Await!

Hey there, iPhone users! Let’s clear up some confusion about the latest iOS updates. The iOS 18 developer beta has been out since the WWDC Keynote a couple of weeks ago, with the public beta set to launch next month. Apple used to charge $99 for developer access, but now it’s free. So, if you want to be among the first to try out new iOS 18 features, go ahead and install the developer beta now.

Here are some of the exciting new features available on the iOS 18 developer beta:
– Home screen app icon customization: Move your icons around and change their colors.
– New Control Center: With a power-off button in the upper right corner and more.

But remember, none of the Apple Intelligence AI features are included in this beta version, and Siri is still not quite up to par.

Keep in mind that the iOS 18 developer beta is not stable, so make sure to back up your data before installing it. Some essential features may not work correctly, and your battery life might take a hit.

Today, Apple released a public beta for iOS 17.6 beta 1. If you’re already part of the iOS Beta Program, head to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates on your compatible iPhone to install it. This update could be one of the last before iOS 18 arrives.

The iOS 17.6 beta 1 update is more stable than the iOS 18 developer beta but doesn’t offer much excitement unless you’re an MLS Season Pass subscriber. The new “Catch Up” feature in iOS 17.6 lets you watch highlights from live-streamed MLS games after they’ve aired.

So if you’re a soccer fan, this could be worth checking out! Just remember that even though it’s more stable than the iOS 18 developer beta, it’s still a beta release – proceed at your own risk. Also released today are iPadOS 17.6 beta 1 and macOS 14.6 beta 1.

Stay tuned for more updates from Apple as we move closer to the official release of iOS 18!
