Paramount+ Announces Price Increase for Subscriptions
Streaming services have become known for increasing prices regularly, and Paramount+ is following suit with its latest announcement. The US-based streaming company revealed that subscription prices will go up starting this August, affecting all tiers including ad-free, Essential (with ads), and Paramount+ with Showtime.
Here are the key details of the price changes:
– New customers opting for the ad-free Paramount+ With Showtime tier will pay $12.99 per month from August 20 (previously $11.99).
– The Paramount+ Essential tier with ads will cost $7.99 per month from August 20 (previously $5.99).
– Existing subscribers to Paramount+ with Showtime will see the price increase after September 20.
– Current monthly subscribers to Paramount+ Essential will maintain their $5.99 monthly rate.
– Annual subscription plans for both tiers remain unchanged at $119.99/year and $59.99/year respectively.
– Customers on the legacy Paramount+ Limited Commercial plan will pay an extra dollar at $7.99 per month.
This marks the second price increase for Paramount+ within a year, with previous adjustments raising the essential and premium tiers by $1 and $2 respectively.
Despite the price hike, Paramount+ remains competitively priced compared to other streaming services like Disney+, Netflix, and HBO Max. While these platforms may offer more content variety, Paramount+’s affordability continues to be a strong selling point.
