Exciting Update: OpenAI’s ChatGPT Voice Mode Release Postponed • Phones Canada News

OpenAI recently provided an update on the highly anticipated ChatGPT Voice Mode, which was showcased during the company’s Spring Update. Initially slated for an alpha release to a select group of ChatGPT Plus users in late June, the rollout has been postponed by a month to enhance quality control.

“We had planned to kick off this alpha rollout with a small group of ChatGPT Plus users in late June, but we require an additional month to meet our launch standards,” OpenAI announced. “For instance, we are enhancing the model’s ability to identify and reject certain content. We are also focused on enhancing user experience and preparing our infrastructure to handle millions of users while ensuring real-time responses.”

The alpha release will commence with a limited number of users to gather feedback and make necessary enhancements before expanding access. OpenAI aims for all ChatGPT Plus users to have access by fall.

In addition to Voice Mode, OpenAI is also developing new video and screen sharing capabilities, demonstrated separately. The company stated, “We are also making progress on introducing the new video and screen sharing features we showcased separately and will provide updates on the timeline.”

ChatGPT’s advanced Voice Mode is designed to engage in conversations with emotions and non-verbal cues, moving towards real-time, natural exchanges with AI. OpenAI emphasized their commitment to introducing these new experiences thoughtfully.

Furthermore, OpenAI unveiled its ChatGPT Mac app for public download yesterday, available not only for Plus users but for everyone interested in exploring its capabilities.

As technology continues to advance rapidly, it is fascinating to witness how generative AI like ChatGPT evolves over time. Stay tuned for more updates on innovative developments in the telecommunications industry!
