Starting today, if you have a PayPal debit or credit card, you can now add them to your Apple Wallet app and use them with Apple Pay. There are two simple ways to do this.
Firstly, you can open the iOS PayPal app and look for the banner on the app’s homepage that says “Pay with your iPhone.” By tapping on this banner, you will be taken to the Apple Wallet app where you can add your PayPal debit or credit cards.
Alternatively, you can open the app and click on the plus icon located at the upper right corner of the display. Follow the instructions to add either your PayPal credit card, PayPal debit card, or both to your Wallet app. Once they are added, you can select either one to make transactions using Apple Pay.
It is important to note that Apple retains a 0.15% fee for each transaction made through Apple Pay. This means that Apple keeps 15 cents out of every $100 in purchases made using the service.
PayPal’s decision to support Apple Pay has come later compared to other banking and financial services cards. It is possible that as the leading global payment method, PayPal had reservations about how its business would benefit from allowing its cards to be used with Apple Pay. However, with today’s announcement, it seems that any concerns have been resolved.
