This situation is reminiscent of Popcorn Time, which was labeled “Netflix for pirates” before being removed from the App Store in 2015.

Kimi included a feature that showed users the most-watched movies and TV shows on the app. However, Apple swiftly took action and removed Kimi from the iOS App Store, iPadOS App Store, and macOS app store after being questioned about its legitimacy by The Verge.
