Breaking News: Samsung Strikes Deal to Provide Apple with Cutting-Edge Foldable Displays

Apple is reportedly gearing up to revolutionize the tech world with the launch of innovative foldable devices in the near future. According to Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, Apple is set to begin mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable device by late next year. This device, described as a hybrid MacBook-iPad, would be followed by the mass production of a foldable iPhone in 2026.

Earlier reports suggested that Apple was leaning towards developing a foldable MacBook over a foldable iPhone due to concerns about the latter’s screen being too fragile for pocket-sized use. However, with the increasing demand for foldable phones, especially after the launch of a foldable iPhone, Apple seems poised to enter this market soon.

Last year, foldables accounted for 1.6% of global smartphone shipments, and this figure is expected to exceed 5% by 2027, excluding Apple’s anticipated entry into the market. As one of the major phone manufacturers yet to release a foldable product, Apple’s foray into this space is highly anticipated.

According to Pu’s recent report, Apple is currently testing two different internal screen sizes for the foldable iPhone – 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a 7.6-inch internal screen. It appears that Apple is working on a book-style foldable iPhone that will open and close around a vertical axis.

Pu also mentioned that Apple has expedited its efforts in developing foldable devices due to the increasing visibility of foldable components in its supply chain checks. The hybrid Mac Book-iPad foldable device is expected to target the ultra high-end market segment, hinting at a premium price tag.

Exciting times lie ahead as Apple gears up to introduce groundbreaking foldable devices that could reshape how we perceive technology. Stay tuned for more updates on these innovative products from Phones Canada!
