Debuting Alongside Pixel Watch 2, Gmail App Arrives on Wear OS

We are excited to announce that Google has released a Gmail app for Wear OS smartwatches. This new app allows users to conveniently view their inbox and open messages directly from their smartwatch. The app supports the ability to view multiple Gmail accounts simultaneously, making it easier to stay connected on the go.

With the Gmail app for Wear OS, you can open and scroll through full emails right from your wrist. You also have the option to manually refresh your inbox if needed. Additionally, the app includes a watch face complication that displays new emails, ensuring that you never miss an important message.

Previously, Wear OS watches only offered Gmail push notifications, limiting users to archiving, replying, or deleting messages. The introduction of the Gmail app brings a much-needed enhancement to the functionality of Wear OS smartwatches. It is worth noting that this app is compatible with smartwatches running Wear OS 3 or 4, including the new Pixel Watch 2.

If you own a Pixel Watch or any other compatible smartwatch, such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 or Galaxy Watch 6, you can now download the Gmail app from the Google Play Store. However, it is important to mention that there is currently no Gmail app available for Apple Watch, and it remains uncertain if one will be developed in the future.

Stay connected and manage your emails effortlessly with the new Gmail app for Wear OS smartwatches. Download it now and experience the convenience it brings to your wrist.
