Enhance Your Phone Experience: Gboard Set to Sync with Your System Font Soon!

Gboard, Google’s popular virtual keyboard app, is known for its smooth integration with various Google services while you type. One downside of Gboard is that it only displays characters in its default font, regardless of the font set on your device. However, there might be good news on the horizon as Google seems to be working on a feature that will allow users to switch between different fonts soon.

In the newest Gboard beta version 14.4.06.646482735, there are indications of a new Font setting in the keyboard Preferences menu. This potential feature could enable users to change from Gboard’s default font to their device’s system font, providing a more cohesive appearance.

It appears that this new feature may not allow users to select custom fonts for Gboard but rather only switch to a different system font to alter the keyboard’s look. Unfortunately, Android does not yet support native switching between various font styles for the entire operating system. Therefore, this feature may not be as versatile as some users would like, especially if their devices do not support custom skin options for font changes.

For those with devices that support this level of customization, the ability to match the keyboard font with the system’s font should enhance the overall user experience. Hopefully, this marks just the beginning of a future where changing fonts for both the keyboard and entire Android OS is easily achievable without relying on third-party apps or custom skins.

While the option to change Gboard’s font is still in development and not yet available in the current beta release, Google is expected to introduce it in a future update without specifying a timeline for its release. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting new feature!
