Enhanced Twitch Feature: Filter and Blur Sexual Content for a Safe Viewing Experience

We are excited to share that Twitch has rolled out a new set of features for its users, fulfilling the promises made earlier this year to enhance the streaming experience. These features are designed to empower Twitch users to personalize their viewing experiences and discover new content easily.

One of the key highlights of this update is the introduction of content filtering. With this feature, users can now choose to filter out streams labeled with Content Classification Labels (CCL) that they prefer not to see. This customization can be accessed through the new Content Display Preferences section in the Profile settings. Once filtered, streams with CCLs will no longer be recommended or appear in browsing categories or search results.

It is important to note that if you follow a specific streamer, their content will always be visible regardless of your filtering preferences for CCLs.

Additionally, Twitch has implemented default filters for users under 18 years old, automatically blocking content labeled with Sexual Themes, Drugs, Intoxication, Excessive Tobacco Use, Violent and Graphic Depictions, and Gambling.

Another exciting feature introduced is “thumbnail blurring,” which allows users to blur thumbnails for content labeled with Sexual Themes CCL. This feature is enabled by default but can be toggled on or off in the Content Display Preferences.

Remember that if you follow a channel, any content from that channel will not be blurred even if it falls under the Sexual Themes category.

These new features aim to give Twitch users more control over their viewing experiences and ensure a safer and more tailored environment for all viewers. Stay tuned for more updates from Twitch as they continue to enhance their platform for all users.
