Exciting News: Google Wallet introduces new feature for scanning and storing all your essentials!

Phones Canada is excited to share news about the latest feature coming to Google Wallet. This new addition will allow users to scan and store digital copies of various documents and passes, making it easier to access important information on the go. Here’s what you need to know:

– The feature, known as “Everything else,” was unveiled at Google I/O earlier this year and is set to be released to users in the near future.
– Before using this feature, Google Wallet will request permission to process your data. Rest assured that all processing occurs on your device, with no data being sent to Google’s servers.
– Users can scan and save two types of documents: normal and private. Normal documents like student IDs or business cards can be added without any special security measures. Private documents such as driver’s licenses or tax IDs will require biometric authentication for added security.

Google Wallet aims to simplify the document scanning process by automatically identifying, scanning, and categorizing the documents you upload. It can recognize a variety of document types, including loyalty cards, passports, IDs, insurance cards, event tickets, and more. In cases where it cannot determine the document type, it will place it in an “Other” category for manual input.

Users also have the flexibility to change a document’s category if they believe it has been mislabeled. Additionally, each document category supports up to five additional fields for added information.

While this new feature is not yet available in the current version of Google Wallet, users can look forward to its inclusion in a future update announced by Google. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
