Exciting news for mobile gamers! The popular poker roguelite game, Balatro, is set to launch on iOS and Android soon. Solo developer LocalThunk recently announced this development in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session.
According to reports from Polygon, LocalThunk is currently working on the mobile ports of Balatro, with PlayStack handling the publishing duties for both iOS and Android platforms. The game initially debuted on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch back in February. Following its success, a macOS version was released on March 1st.
Balatro has been turning heads with its unique take on the roguelite genre. The official Balatro Twitter account even celebrated reaching a significant milestone of selling one million copies. Players of Balatro engage in laying down traditional poker hands to earn points through eight challenging rounds. Joker cards with special abilities can be collected along the way to enhance gameplay.
Apart from the upcoming mobile release, PlayStack Games has hinted at exploring merchandise options for Balatro. They are also considering producing custom card decks related to the game. Additionally, fans can look forward to a new ‘Daily Challenge mode’ in the pipeline as confirmed by LocalThunk. Although there’s no set timeline for its release yet, it’s definitely something players can anticipate.
Stay tuned for more updates on Balatro as it continues its journey into the world of mobile gaming!
