Get ready for the next big update from Nothing! Nothing Phone’s OS 3.0 is on the horizon, set to debut alongside the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition. This special device will feature hardware changes designed by fans, along with custom wallpapers and packaging created by the public. The Nothing Community will also play a significant role in marketing this unique phone.
Carl Pei, the visionary founder and CEO of Nothing, has given us a sneak peek of some exciting new features coming with Nothing OS 3.0. Here’s what to expect:
– New lock screen customizations
– Interactive dot animations in Quick Settings
Pei shared images showcasing three different lock screen options for Nothing users:
1. Default look displaying time, day, and date
2. Clock + Widget option featuring time in dots with weather and quick action shortcuts
3. Expanded Widget Area with an analog clock, large date tile, and widgets for quick actions, weather, and contacts
Additionally, Pei teased an upcoming Interactive Dot Animation composed of three layers: input image layer, live interaction layer, and final output layer.
Nothing OS 3.0 is also rumored to introduce a new native gallery app and community app. Official announcements are expected in September following last year’s release of Nothing OS 2.0 in August. The update will be compatible with Nothing Phone models (1), (2), and (2a).
Pei’s excitement is palpable as he couldn’t resist sharing details about the lock screen customizations on his social media accounts. Stay tuned for more updates as we eagerly await the official launch of Nothing OS 3.0!
