Exciting Update: Android 15 Beta 1.1 Enhances NFC and Google Wallet Contactless Payments!

Google has rolled out a new update for its Android 15 Beta program, aimed at enhancing stability and fixing bugs from the previous Beta 1 release. While not introducing major new features, this patch addresses issues that beta testers may have encountered, particularly with NFC-related features like Google Wallet.

The Android 15 Beta 1.1 patch includes fixes for the following specific issues:

– Fixed various NFC issues that were affecting wallet apps and other NFC-dependent operations.
– Resolved a problem causing crashes in the Developer Options settings screen.
– Fixed an issue preventing some devices from updating properly to Beta 1.
– Addressed a text clipping issue when attempting to print.

This patch is available for eligible Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program, including Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Users on Android 15 Beta 1 or earlier versions will receive an OTA prompt to update to Android 15 Beta 1.1.

If you’re interested in becoming a beta tester for Android 15 and own an eligible Pixel device, you can sign up on the Android Beta for Pixel site. However, keep in mind that beta releases can be unstable, so it’s advisable to back up your device before joining the program. For example, the previous Android 15 Beta caused NFC issues on some devices. Make sure to consider these factors before diving into the beta program with your primary device.
