Phones Canada is excited to share that Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 will include support for RCS messaging, set to launch this fall. This new feature is a game-changer for iPhone users, as it brings them closer to the rich communication experience enjoyed by Android device users.
RCS, or Rich Communication Services, offers enhanced messaging capabilities such as richer media sharing and read receipts, even for those who don’t use iMessage. With the latest iOS 18 beta release, Canadian users can now enjoy RCS support alongside their U.S. counterparts.
One of the standout features of iOS 18 beta 3 is the toggle for RCS Messaging, giving users the flexibility to enable or disable this functionality as they see fit. This ensures that you have control over how you communicate with friends and family using this new technology.
In addition to RCS messaging, Apple has introduced exciting new features in Messages for iOS 18. Users can now schedule messages to be sent at specific times, ensuring that important messages are delivered promptly. Moreover, iPhone 14 series phones and newer models boast satellite capabilities, allowing for seamless communication via iMessage or SMS even without cellular or Wi-Fi service.
Furthermore, iMessage now supports fun animated effects for letters, words, phrases, and emojis. Users can also send Tapbacks with emojis or stickers, including Live Stickers created from personal photos and favorite sticker packs.
