Motorola is gearing up to launch some new handsets, as spotted by 91mobiles on multiple certification sites including the FCC, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and the IMEI website. The new phones are expected to be part of the Motorola Edge 50 series and come with a range of accessories and components, including a wireless charger, an adapter for wired charging, and a new battery tested and certified for safety by TUV Rheinland.
The FCC website revealed that Motorola handsets with model numbers XT2403-1, XT2403-2, XT2403-4, and XT2403-5 were discovered. According to 91mobiles, these phones are likely to be part of the Motorola Edge 50 series. Additionally, model numbers XT2403-1 and XT2431-1 were listed on the BIS site. It is speculated that the phones represented by model numbers in the range of XT2403-1 to XT2403-6 are probably different variants of the Motorola Edge 50/Edge 50 Pro. Moreover, model number XT2403-2 features support for E-SIM.
The IMEI website confirmed that model number XT2403-2 appears with the codename “Macan24.” This aligns with a tweet from reputable leaker Evan Blass stating that “The upcoming Motorola Edge 50 Pro is codenamed ‘Macan’.” This suggests that the phones listed on various certification sites could be different versions of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.
In addition to these findings, listings on TUV Rheinland indicate that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be powered by a 4500mAh battery with support for fast wired charging at up to 125W and support for 50W wireless charging. This information is based on Motorola’s listings on TUV Rheinland’s site which show a 50W wireless charger (model number MW-02), wired chargers up to 125W (model numbers MC-1250 to MC-1258), and a 4,500mAh battery (model number QM45).
Based on previous releases from Motorola, it is anticipated that the Edge 50 Pro will be released sometime this April. In addition, in the U.S., it’s worth noting that previous models were known as the Motorola Edge+ (year) which came with similar features.
Stay tuned for more updates as we await further details about this exciting new lineup from Motorola!
