Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 perform equally in real-time gaming.

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in the U.S. and China are powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset used in all Galaxy S24 Ultra units in all markets. In all other regions, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos 2400 SoC. The Exynos chipsets have had thermal issues and lagged behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips in performance but have finally caught up with the latest Samsung AP.

The Exynos 2400 has 10 cores and trailed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 slightly in benchmark tests, but the results were fairly close. Real-life gaming tests showed that the Exynos 2400 SoC and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC delivered stable frame rates while playing popular games like Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact, and Mobile Legends.

While playing Call of Duty: Mobile, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset delivered a frame rate of 120fps throughout the game compared to the 60fps frame rate of the Exynos 2400 AP. However, in War Thunder, the Exynos 2400 outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with a 100fps frame rate while the latter could only deliver 40fps. This suggests that the Exynos 2400 Xclipse 940 GPU is better at handling Ray Tracing than the Adreno GPU used on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

It’s important to note that this real-time gaming test was conducted on an Exynos 2400 equipped Galaxy S24+ and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped Galaxy S24 Ultra. Despite this advantage, the Exynos 2400 AP held its own against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 AP during the real-time gaming test.
