Facebook announced a new feature that allows users to create multiple personal profiles. This feature is beneficial for those who want to separate different hobbies and interests that they would like to share with their friends and family. Here’s how it works:
1. Choose a name and have an @username for up to four additional personal profiles.
2. Connect with the people or communities you choose, so each profile has a unique Feed with relevant content and shared interests.
3. Easily switch between profiles without having to log in.
This feature also helps in keeping personal and professional relationships separate, as well as maintaining one profile for a specific community and another for friends. You can organize who you share with and what content you see on each profile’s Feed.
It’s important to note that certain Facebook features like Dating, Marketplace, Professional Mode, and payments will not be available for additional personal profiles initially. However, messaging within the Facebook app and on the web will be accessible for these profiles. Facebook plans to expand Messenger support for additional profiles in the coming months.
The ability to create multiple personal profiles is rolling out globally starting today and will continue over the next few months. If you don’t see the feature right away, please be patient. Do keep in mind that this option is only available for eligible adult accounts.
