Fastest Phone in U.S. during Q4 Revealed in Ookla’s Speedtest Report

According to Ookla’s latest Speedtest Intelligence test, the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the fastest smartphone in the U.S. during the fourth quarter. It delivered median download speeds of 213.84Mbps, outpacing other devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and iPhone 15.

In addition to the fastest median download speed, the iPhone 15 Pro Max also had the fastest median upload speed at 14.70Mbps and performed well in latency testing. Ookla reported that among the top two manufacturers, there was no statistical winner, although Samsung ranked first in median download speed, median upload speed, and latency compared to Apple’s scores.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 5G modem chip, found in the iPhone 15 series and Galaxy S23 series, was the fastest modem chip during the fourth quarter in the U.S. It had a median download speed of 205.38Mbps and a median upload speed of 14.10Mbps, outpacing the previous generation Snapdragon X65 5G modem chip. Among application processors (AP), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was the leader with a median download speed of 173.55Mbps and a median upload speed of 13.13Mbps.

Overall, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max stood out as the fastest smartphone in the U.S. during Q4, with impressive download and upload speeds compared to other leading devices.
