Apple’s developer conference, WWDC, is an annual event held in June that showcases the next iOS build and often introduces new hardware as well. While the focus is usually on new features coming to iOS, past conferences have also seen the debut of new products such as Vision Pro, Home Pod, and iPhone SE. This year’s event might bring us new iPads including a 12.9-inch iPad Air and possibly a refreshed iPad Pro line with OLED displays.
The big news at WWDC 2024 will likely be iOS 18, which is expected to be one of the largest updates in iOS history due to its emphasis on AI. There are rumors that Siri will see a much-improved version with new AI capabilities based on Apple’s internal Ajax model. This could mean more personalization and natural conversations for Siri users.
One major question that remains is whether these AI features will be backward compatible with older iPhone models that are eligible to receive the update. It’s also unclear if these capabilities will only work with the upcoming iPhone 16 line powered by the 3nm A18 Bionic and A18 Pro chips.
WWDC 2024 could take place on any of the four Mondays in June (7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th). If you’re interested in following the event, it might be a good idea to install the Apple Developer app to stream some of WWDC’s festivities. Keep an eye out for any announcements regarding dates and details!
Remember to stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to WWDC 2024!
