Phones Canada team is excited to share the latest in AI advancements from Google! The new and improved Assistant, known as Bard, is set to take over on supported Android devices. But that’s not all – it looks like Bard might also be making its way to Google Messages!
According to recent findings, Bard was spotted in the beta version 20240111_04_RC00 of the Messages app, suggesting that users may soon be able to engage in RCS chats with Bard directly in the app. Screenshots of the beta version indicate that Bard will be able to assist users with writing messages, translating languages, identifying images, and exploring various interests.
It seems that Bard will also take into account a user’s location and past chats to provide more personalized responses. However, it’s important to note that Google has warned that Bard might not always be 100% accurate, so it’s advisable to double-check its responses.
Interestingly, it has been revealed that users must be 18 or older to interact with Bard in Google Messages. Additionally, chats with Bard will not be end-to-end encrypted, and the related data is set to be stored for up to 18 months.
Google emphasizes the importance of not sharing sensitive information with Bard, as all reviewed data, although detached from the user’s account, will remain stored for up to three years. However, they are providing users with the option to turn off, manage, and delete their Bard Activity. If the Bard Activity switch is turned off, chats will only be saved for 72 hours.
While the feature is not yet available on Google Messages, it appears that the integration of Bard is nearing completion. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
