Google Launches Bard Extensions for Seamless Integration
The AI era is in full swing, and whether you’re a fan or not, AI is charging ahead at a breakneck pace. Google has recently introduced Bard Extensions in English, which offers a new way to interact and collaborate with Bard, their advanced chatbot.
These Extensions allow Bard to seamlessly integrate with popular Google tools like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Flights. By enabling these Extensions, Bard can access information from different Google apps and services and deliver relevant information in real time.
For instance, Bard can scan your Gmail and highlight important details, such as emails related to your child’s school. It can also be utilized as a personal assistant during job applications, where you can instruct Bard to summarize your resume and even collaborate with it while crafting your cover letter.
Google emphasizes that privacy is a top priority with these Extensions. Your content from Gmail, Docs, and Drive remains confidential, with no human reviewers accessing it or Bard using it for advertising purposes or model training. You have complete control over your privacy settings and can disable these extensions whenever you prefer.
However, it’s important to note that Bard extensions like Maps, YouTube, Hotels, and Flights are enabled by default. You have the option to disable them at any time if desired.
In addition to the Extensions, Google has also introduced a “Google it” button for Bard. This button makes it easier to cross-verify Bard’s responses by reviewing supporting content from the web.
Furthermore, Google has enhanced the functionality of Bard when someone shares a Bard chat with you via a public link. You can now have ongoing conversations with Bard about the topic or use it as a starting point for your own thoughts and ideas.
