There’s exciting news for smartphone enthusiasts. LPDDR5X RAM has been the talk of the town, but it’s time to look beyond it. The next generation of memory, called LPDDR5T, has arrived, and it’s even faster than the beloved LPDDR5X. According to reports from Android Headlines, LPDDR5T offers a 13% faster reading speed than its predecessor.
Although LPDDR5T was announced nearly a year ago in January 2023, no phone has incorporated it until now. However, that is about to change. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has revealed that the upcoming Vivo X100 line will be the first devices to feature LPDDR5T. The official presentation of the Vivo X100 series is expected to be held in China on November 17.
The Weibo account claims, “The pentakill is here, the Vivo X100 series is the world’s first to feature the new memory LPDDR5T, available in all series. Compared to mainstream LPDDR5X memory, it offers a 13% faster reading speed. Together with Dimensity 9300 and UFS 4.0, it forms a new performance triangle.”
While a 13% increase may not sound like much, operating at a data rate of 9.6 GB/s (LPDDR5T) promises a more enjoyable experience compared to the peak data rate of 8.5 GB/s (LPDDR5X). Additionally, SK Hynix, the manufacturer of LPDDR5T RAM, confirms its compatibility with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip, making it an ideal companion for the Vivo X100.
Furthermore, SK Hynix has plans to offer a 16GB-capacity product by combining multiple individual LPDDR5T chips. This configuration will achieve a remarkable data processing speed of 77 GB per second. The company also highlights the power efficiency of LPDDR5T, operating at the lowest voltage within the range of 1.01 to 1.12V standards.
Apart from the memory upgrade, the Vivo X100 is rumored to flaunt impressive camera capabilities. The Vivo X100 Pro Plus is expected to feature a main camera with variable aperture and a 200MP telephoto lens, according to reports.
In conclusion, LPDDR5T RAM is set to revolutionize the smartphone market with its faster reading speed and compatibility with high-performance chipsets. Stay tuned for more updates on the Vivo X100 series and its groundbreaking features.
