Specs for Pixel 8 and 8 Pro leaked ahead of official unveiling
We are only a few hours away from the official unveiling of Google’s Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, and leaks are flooding in with all the information we could possibly imagine. The latest leak reveals the spec sheets for both phones, providing further details about their features.
The leak, courtesy of Arsène Lupin on X (formerly Twitter), includes two images showcasing the specs of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. While some of this information has already been leaked, these spec sheets serve to complement the existing rumors surrounding Google’s highly anticipated premium phones.
Let’s take a look at what the leaked spec sheets reveal. The Pixel 8 will feature a 6.2-inch FullHD+ screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080, which is pretty standard for a premium phone. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro will sport a larger 6.7-inch screen with a higher resolution of 2992 x 1344. Both phones will utilize OLED displays, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks, and both will support a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance.
As previously rumored, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will be powered by Google’s custom-made chip, the Tensor G3. The Pixel 8 will come with 8GB of RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro will offer 12GB of RAM and the same storage options. Previous rumors suggested more storage options for the Pro version, but we will have to wait for the official information to confirm.
In terms of battery, the Pixel 8 will have a 4,575mAh battery, while the Pixel 8 Pro will boast a larger 5,050mAh battery. According to the listings, the phones will be able to achieve a 50% charge in approximately 30 minutes and a full charge in around 100 minutes. Although not the fastest charging speeds, they are still quite decent.
While the leaked spec sheets do not provide new information about the camera setup, most of these details have already been leaked. We expect the Pixel 8 to feature a 50MP main camera paired with a 12MP ultrawide shooter. The Pro version, on the other hand, will house a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 4.5x optical zoom. Both phones will have a 10.5MP front-facing camera.
Additionally, the spec sheets also reveal the dimensions of each phone. The Pixel 8 measures 5.92 x 2.79 x 0.35 inches (150.4 x 71 x 8.9mm) and weighs 6.59 ounces (187 grams). In comparison, the Pixel 8 Pro is slightly larger, with dimensions of 6.4 x 3.01 x 0.34 inches (162.6 x 76.5 x 8.6mm) and a weight of 7.51 ounces (213 grams).
Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.3 and the pre-installed Android 14 operating system. With just a few hours remaining until the official event, we are left wondering what surprises Google still has in store for us. Stay tuned for more updates.
