MediaTek, the renowned semiconductor company, has unveiled its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9300, to rival Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This powerful processor will be featured in vivo’s upcoming X100 series and boasts the innovative “All Big Core” design.
According to MediaTek’s President, Joe Chen, the Dimensity 9300 is the company’s most robust flagship chip to date, offering a significant boost in computing power for high-end smartphones. Let’s take a closer look at the key features of this cutting-edge chipset.
– Big Core Power: The Dimensity 9300 is based on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process and incorporates four Arm Cortex-X4 cores clocked at up to 3.25GHz, along with four Cortex-A720 cores operating at speeds up to 2.0GHz. This configuration maximizes performance and delivers powerful processing capabilities.
– Faster Display Speeds: With support for WQHD at 180Hz and 4K up to 120Hz, the chipset ensures stunning visuals and smooth display performance. Moreover, it enables dual active display support, catering to foldable form factors.
– Seamless 5G Connectivity: The Dimensity 9300 features a 5G R16 modem that supports 4CC-CA Sub-6GHz and 8CC-CA mmWave. MediaTek’s UltraSave 3.0+ technology enhances power efficiency, enabling uninterrupted and efficient 5G connectivity.
– Speedy Memory: The chipset supports LPDDR5T 9600Mbps memory, currently the fastest available, ensuring swift and efficient data processing.
In addition to these impressive features, the Dimensity 9300 incorporates a low-power AI-ISP, providing always-on HDR up to 4K resolution at 60fps. It also supports various advanced camera features such as real-time bokeh tracking, AI noise reduction, and AI processing for both photos and videos.
MediaTek has confirmed that its flagship chipset will support the new Ultra HDR format in Android 14. The Dimensity 9300 also offers Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to 6.5Gbps and integrates MediaTek Xtra Range Technology, ensuring reliable long-range connectivity.
When it comes to graphics performance, the Dimensity 9300 includes the Arm Immortalis-G720, the latest flagship GPU from Arm. This GPU delivers a remarkable 46% increase in performance while maintaining the same power consumption level as MediaTek’s previous chipset, the Dimensity 9200.
Although the first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset is expected to arrive by the end of 2023, vivo’s X100 and X100 Pro will be unveiled on November 13 and will likely showcase the power and capabilities of this impressive chipset.
Stay tuned for further updates on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 as more information becomes available.
