Phones Canada at Camp Strava: Explore Exciting New Telecom Features like Dark Mode and AI!

Strava, the well-known social fitness tracking platform, recently hosted its annual Camp Strava event, unveiling a range of new features scheduled for release later this year. Under the leadership of new CEO Michael Martin, Strava is prioritizing user experience, safety, and data integrity.

One of the most anticipated additions is the introduction of ‘Dark Mode’ for the mobile app, a feature that has become common in many applications. Strava users, both free and paid, will soon have the option to select between always-on dark mode or have it automatically adjust to their phone’s settings. This feature is expected to be available by the end of summer.

To cater to families and friend groups, Strava also announced an upcoming family plan that allows up to four individuals to share a single paid membership. While pricing details are still forthcoming, interested users can find more information on Strava’s website.

Safety and route discovery are being enhanced with the introduction of night heat maps. These maps will filter activities recorded between sunset and sunrise, helping users find popular routes for safer nighttime workouts. Additionally, a new quick edit feature will streamline common changes to recorded activities like altering activity names, start times, and location sharing settings.

Introducing artificial intelligence (AI) into its offerings, Strava is launching ‘Athlete Intelligence.’ This feature will analyze user data using large language models to provide insights on training, performance metrics, and personalized improvement suggestions. It will even consider upcoming events and current injuries, acting as a personalized virtual coach.

AI will also be utilized to maintain the integrity of Strava’s leaderboards through AI-enabled leaderboard integrity features that aim to better detect and flag irregular or impossible activities. For instance, mistakenly labeling an e-bike ride as a regular bike ride could be identified and corrected thanks to this technology. These exciting features are still in development but hold great promise for both Strava and its user community.
