Reports suggest that Samsung’s durable Galaxy XCover 7 smartphone will come with a surprisingly low price tag.

Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer and number two tablet vendor, is preparing to release more than just three impressive Android handsets in the coming months. While no new Galaxy Buds edition is anticipated to be released alongside the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, it is indeed only a matter of time until the mid-range Galaxy A55, Tab Active 5, and XCover 7 are formally unveiled.

The Galaxy XCover 7 is reported to cost €379.90 in Europe, which is significantly lower than the €609 price of the 2022-released XCover 6 Pro in countries like France. Although it seems the XCover 7 will be a lower-end affair due to the lack of Pro branding, it is expected to have an upgraded 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage compared to the previous XCover 5.

On the downside, the XCover 7 is rumored to have only one rear camera and a 4,000mAh battery capacity, developments that may not be particularly heralded by users considering the robust design of the device. Other unconfirmed specs include a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, a 6.6-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution, pre-loaded Android 14 software with One UI, 25W charging support, and standard certifications for water, dust, and extreme temperature, among others.

As of now, there is no concrete information about the US availability of the XCover 7, but historical signs suggest it may be available in the country in due time. Given the pricing and unlocked variant availability of the XCover 6 Pro at $599.99, it is likely that the non-Pro XCover 7 will cost around $350 when officially released in the US.

It is possible that the XCover 7 will initially be available through enterprise retail channels, with distribution later extending to normal consumers. This means there may be a wait of several months before it becomes widely available. Alternatively, users may opt for other similarly robust and more powerful smartphones, such as the Motorola ThinkPhone, at a comparable price.
