Top 18 Highlights from Apple’s WWDC 2024 Keynote: iPhone Updates and More at Phones Canada Blog

Apple recently shared the key highlights from this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote address, which marks the beginning of a week-long event that will conclude on Friday, June 14. This event provides developers and students with exclusive access to Apple experts, new tools, frameworks, and features to enhance their apps and games.

The live-streamed keynote from Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California featured executives introducing new technologies and features across all of the company’s platforms. The theme of this year’s WWDC keynote was “Apple Intelligence,” unveiling a new personal intelligence system for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that understands personal context to deliver helpful and relevant intelligence. As part of this initiative, Apple is introducing new AI capabilities like ChatGPT to its devices.

Exciting announcements were made regarding iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and tvOS 18. Additionally, there are new features for AirPods and a significant redesign of the Photos app. The Vision Pro headset will also be available outside the U.S., including in Canada starting next month.

iOS 18 brings more customizability with a granular Control Center, flexibility in arranging apps and widgets on the Home Screen, and the T9 dialling feature among other enhancements. Meanwhile, iPadOS 18 introduces the long-awaited Calculator app for iPads along with features tailored for Apple Pencil users like Math Notes and Smart Script handwriting tools.
