Nintendo fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the Switch 2, but it looks like they’ll have to wait a bit longer than expected. According to Eurogamer, the launch has been postponed to the first quarter of 2025 in order to ensure a stronger lineup of games. This decision was made in an effort to make a bigger impact during the upcoming financial year.

The delay was first reported by Video Games Chronicle (VGC), and it seems that third-party developers have already been informed of the new timeline. This means that if you were hoping for a new Nintendo Switch 2 for the holidays this year, you may need to wait until early 2025.

The original Switch was released in March 2017, so it’s definitely due for an upgrade. Despite its age, Nintendo has managed to maintain its price point of around $429. But with the promise of new and exciting games on the horizon, it seems like the wait will be worth it.

As we look forward to what’s in store for Nintendo’s next console, we can expect some exciting developments in early 2025. Stay tuned for more updates!
