We recently released the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S23 series, but some users have reported experiencing touchscreen issues, particularly with the fingerprint scanner. Alongside this problem, there have been reports of slower charging speeds and overheating in certain cases.
Samsung has identified Google’s Discover app as the culprit behind the touchscreen inaccuracies. The good news is that Google is already working on a permanent solution to address this issue. In the meantime, we are offering Galaxy S23 owners a temporary fix to alleviate the problem by updating and clearing the Google app’s data.
If you have already updated to the latest version of Discover, you can try clearing the app’s data and restarting your phone. This simple step should help resolve any fingerprint recognition issues you may be experiencing, eliminating the need to repeatedly tap on the screen for it to respond.
To clear an app’s data on your phone, follow these steps: Settings / Apps / Google / Storage / Clear data. Please note that this is only a temporary solution and may not work for everyone affected by the touchscreen problem. Rest assured that both Samsung and Google are actively working towards a more permanent fix for a smoother user experience.
