Two variants of the upcoming iPad Air rumoured to hit the market – one with a larger size and another featuring an updated chip

Two New iPad Air Models Rumored

The rumor mill grinds hard and fabricates two new iPad Air models – sources suggest that Apple may have more ambitious plans for its mid-range tablet.

According to undisclosed sources, the Cupertino giant has been experimenting with two new versions of the iPad Air. These unconfirmed tablets are code-named J507, J508, J537, and J538. One pair represents a Wi-Fi only option, while the other pair includes cellular connectivity. All of them are reportedly based on the iPad Air.

J507 and J508 are already known among Apple enthusiasts. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned these code titles in his newsletter earlier this year. These models are expected to be the successors of the iPad Air 5, featuring a new chip to replace the M1 in the 2022 version of Apple’s mid-range tablet.

J537 and J538, on the other hand, remain more mysterious. Some speculate that it might be a larger tablet, as the current iPad Air 5 comes with a 10.9-inch display. Alternatively, Apple could be planning to introduce a more expensive variant with higher-level specifications. However, it’s important to note that all of this information should be taken with a grain of salt as Apple’s plans can change unexpectedly.

Currently, the only iPad that offers multiple versions is the iPad Pro, which comes in 11 and 12.9 inches. The rumored changes to the iPad Air line could shake things up in Apple’s product lineup.
