Google recently unveiled some exciting new AI features powered by Gemini that will be coming to Gmail on mobile devices. These features are designed to make managing your emails easier and more efficient than ever before.

One of the new features is Summarize, which will provide you with highlights of your emails right at the top. Simply tap on ‘Summarize’ to get a quick overview of the email content. For example, if you receive an email about choosing a roofing company, Summarize will give you a summary of the important details.

Another handy feature is Gmail Q&A, which allows you to ask questions directly within the mobile card. For instance, if you need to compare roofing bids based on price and availability, Gmail Q&A will provide you with a concise summary without having to search through multiple emails.

Gemini also introduces suggested replies with its Contextual Smart Reply feature. These smart replies are tailored to the context of your conversation, making it quicker and easier for you to respond to emails. By long-pressing on a suggested reply, you can even preview it before sending.

These new Gmail features for mobile will first be available for Workspace Labs users starting in May with Summarize and rolling out in July with Gmail Q&A and Contextual Smart Reply. We hope to see these Gemini-powered features eventually become available to all users, not just those with paid Workspace accounts.
