Apple Unleashes iOS 17.2.1 to Eliminate Mysterious Bugs

Apple has launched iOS 17.2.1 which provides important bug fixes, although the company did not identify what these bugs were. The update is available for the iPhone XS and later, and for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad 5th generation, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, and iPad Pro 12.9-inch 1st generation, update to iOS 16.7.4 and iPadOS 16.7.4 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

Apple points out that these updates have no published CVE entries, making it unclear if the bugs are minor or serious enough to require a quick patch. Regardless, users are encouraged to install the update.

The update weighs in at 240.5MB, so it might require some space on older iPhone models. The latest version of iPadOS remains iPadOS 17.2, and the most up-to-date version of watchOS is watchOS 10.2. The next major update, iOS 17.3, is expected to bring a collaborative Apple Music playlist feature.
