Apple is making strides in integrating Apple Intelligence features into its Vision Pro headset, expanding beyond its original promises for Mac, iPhone, and iPad devices. According to reports by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this development is in the works for the future, although not expected to materialize this year.
The Vision Pro boasts 16GB of RAM and is set to support Apple Intelligence features like notification prioritization, writing tools, an OpenAI chatbot, and the latest Siri technology. This move aligns perfectly with Apple’s goal of positioning the Vision Pro as a productivity and computing tool.
While transitioning these features into the device should be relatively smooth due to similarities between visionOS and iPadOS, the main challenge lies in optimizing the user interface for effective functionality in a mixed-reality environment.
There are also concerns about potential strain on Apple’s cloud-computing infrastructure with expanded AI capabilities. However, given the limited market reach of the Vision Pro at present, worries about server overload are minimal.
In Canada, pre-orders for the Vision Pro went live last week ahead of its June 28 release date. Pricing starts at a hefty $4,999 CAD before taxes and additional expenses. Interestingly, an informal poll revealed that 92.5% of respondents did not place an order for the headset.
Apple has introduced some updates for the Vision Pro to enhance user experience. Customers can now choose a “Go Deeper” option to access specific device functionalities related to office work and video capabilities. Additionally, during demos, Apple has switched from using the Solo Loop to the Dual Loop headset band to address comfort issues raised by potential buyers.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development from Phones Canada!
