Discover Google Maps’ New Easy-to-Use Directions: The Latest Update • Phones Canada

Google Maps has rolled out a new feature that many users have been eagerly awaiting – glanceable directions. This feature, first announced by Google last February, now displays real-time ETA and turn-by-turn directions directly on your lock screen, eliminating the need for constant phone unlocking.

After facing some delays, Google has finally begun a silent worldwide rollout of this convenient feature, reaching users in various countries. In addition to real-time directions, glanceable directions also offer route overview tracking without the need to start detailed directions.

To enable this feature, simply access the Settings menu within Google Maps under Navigation settings. It’s important to note that glanceable directions are initially disabled by default.

Google believes that this new addition will not only improve navigation safety but also enhance convenience for drivers by reducing distractions caused by frequent phone interactions.

While users are excited about this update, some hope that Google will streamline its deployment process for future updates to avoid lengthy delays. Nonetheless, this enhancement marks a significant improvement in the functionality of Google Maps.

Now users can enjoy the benefits of glanceable directions and make their navigation experience smoother and more efficient.
