Discover the Affordable iPhone 16 Pro: Bigger Display and Slimmer Bezels Await!

Apple is rumored to be making some significant changes to its Pro line of iPhones this year, aiming to set them apart from the rest. Instead of sticking to the usual 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, Apple is planning to introduce four different screen sizes for the iPhone 16 series.

According to reliable Apple analysts and leaked CAD schematics, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a larger 6.27″ OLED panel. This display size may be rounded up to 6.3 inches in the official specs, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max could see a similar treatment with its 6.85″ screen likely marketed as a 6.9-inch display.

To achieve this increase in display size, Apple has reportedly asked its main suppliers – Samsung and LG – to implement a “border reduction structure.” This process involves trimming down the inactive area at the edges of the display, which is necessary for housing display driver circuitry.

The bottom bezel, where most of the display driver circuitry resides, presents a challenge for both LG and Samsung in meeting Apple’s requirements. LG is taking steps to cut manufacturing costs by diversifying its display driver circuitry suppliers, opting for a second supplier in Novatek from Taiwan.

By diversifying suppliers and implementing cost-cutting measures, LG aims to produce screens more affordably while meeting Apple’s quality standards. This move could potentially allow Apple to maintain pricing consistency across its lineup, offering the iPhone 16 Pro at a similar price point as its predecessor despite the larger screens.

Overall, these changes suggest that Apple is focused on enhancing user experience and product differentiation within its premium iPhone lineup this year.
