Koodo, owned by Telus, has recently updated its website, and it seems that they have removed 5G plans from their offerings, focusing now on 4G and 3G speeds. Here’s a quick rundown of the current plans available:
– $30 for pay-per-use data with unlimited Canada-wide minutes
– $39 for 20GB of 4G data
– $44 for 40GB of 4G data
– $49 for 50GB of 4G data
Although the new plans no longer include 5G speeds, Koodo still mentions 5G on its network coverage page. Existing customers who are on 5G plans may still be enjoying speeds of up to 250 Mbps, while the new 4G speeds reach up to 100 Mbps.
Interestingly, Telus’s prepaid brand Public Mobile continues to offer 5G plans, while Koodo does not. This difference in offerings may be confusing for customers looking for consistency across the Telus brands.
Koodo initially introduced its 5G plans in August of last year, following the lead of other telecommunications providers like Bell’s Virgin Plus and Freedom Mobile at that time.
We have reached out to Koodo for further clarification and will update this post with any additional information we receive.
