Enhanced Bug Fixes: Google Launches Android 15 Beta 1.2 for Pixel Phones in Canada

Google Releases Android 15 Beta 1.2 Update for Pixel Devices

Just days after fixing a major NFC tap-to-pay issue, Google has rolled out another update for the Android 15 Beta program. This latest Beta 1.2 update is all about enhancing the stability and performance of the upcoming Android version specifically for Pixel devices.

Following the previous update (Beta 1.1) that reintroduced contactless payments via Google Wallet through NFC, the Beta 1.2 patch (build AP31.240322.027) addresses additional bugs reported by users. Here’s a quick rundown of the fixes included in this approximately 14MB update:

– Resolved an issue causing apps to freeze and show an “Application Not Responding” message.
– Fixed a system performance problem leading to excessive battery drain in some scenarios.
– Addressed a bug that caused the system Settings app to crash when adding a fingerprint.
– Solved an issue preventing the system back gesture from functioning properly in certain cases.
– Fixed a bug that could result in the screen flickering repeatedly.

All eligible Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will soon receive an over-the-air (OTA) notification for Beta 1.2. This update also includes the April 2024 security patch and is compatible with Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro.

A friendly reminder: participating in the Android Beta Program means you may encounter bugs and glitches as Google fine-tunes the next Android version. If your phone is crucial for daily tasks, it might be wise to wait for the official release of Android 15 before joining the Beta program.

For those excited to explore new features and are prepared to handle occasional bugs, enrolling in the Android 15 Beta program offers a sneak peek at what’s on the horizon for Pixel devices. However, proceed cautiously if you decide to take this step.
