Introducing the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series, set to feature a significant upgrade in camera technology. The Ultra-wide cameras will now house a 48MP sensor, a major leap from the previous 12MP sensor used in the Pro models since 2019. Reports suggest that the new sensor, Sony IMX903, will be larger at 1/1.14 inches, promising improved image quality.

Renowned leaker Ice Universe shared a schematic illustration showcasing the slightly elevated height of the rear cameras on the iPhone 16 Pro models compared to their predecessors.

The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will see a slight increase in screen size, with a jump from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a larger 6.9-inch display, up from the previous 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. Expect these models to boast ultra-thin bezels, setting a new standard for smartphone design.

Both devices will be powered by the cutting-edge A18 Pro application processor (AP) manufactured by TSMC using its advanced second-generation 3nm process node. Anticipated to be unveiled this September, the iPhone 16 series will come pre-installed with iOS 18, enabling support for innovative AI features previewed at WWDC.
