Instagram Introduces New Direct Messaging Features
Instagram has exciting new updates for its direct messaging feature, making it easier and more enjoyable for users to connect. Here’s a breakdown of the latest enhancements:
– Edit Messages: Users can now edit messages up to 15 minutes after sending them. Simply press and hold the sent message, then select “edit” from the dropdown menu. This feature comes in handy for fixing typos or correcting messages that just don’t sound right.
– Pin Chats: The new pin chats feature allows users to pin up to three group or one-on-one chats at the top of their inbox for quick access. To activate this, swipe left on the chat or tap and hold it, then select “pin.”
– Read Receipts Toggle: Users now have the option to turn read receipts on or off for all chats or specific ones. This setting can be adjusted in the account settings under Messages and story replies.
– Saved Stickers: Instagram now lets users save their favorite stickers in DMs for easy access. These saved stickers will appear at the top of the sticker section in future chats. Additionally, users can now use stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages in replies to messages.
– New Chat Themes: Instagram is introducing new chat themes like Love, Lollipop, and Avatar: The Last Airbender to add a touch of fun and personalization to conversations.
“We are always working to make messaging on Instagram a fun and private way for people to connect with each other,” shared Meta’s Instagram team.
