Exciting News: Google Contacts to Offer Account-Free Option for Seamless App Use!

Google Contacts is rolling out a new feature that allows users to access the app without needing a Google account. This exciting update was discovered by the team at Android Authority in version 4.35 of the app.

Here’s what you need to know about this upcoming feature:

– When you tap on the profile picture in the top right corner, you will soon see the option to use Google Contacts “without an account.”
– By selecting this option, you will be redirected to the Organize tab within the app, where a dialog will explain that you won’t have access to Google Contact sync and any contacts imported from your Google account will be removed.
– Currently, it’s possible to disable Google Contacts sync, but it involves a more complex process through Contact settings and Google Contact sync settings.

Additionally, Google is working on enhancing the individual contact page by making some layout tweaks:

– Options like Share contact, Add to home screen, move to another account, and delete will be relocated from the menu to appear directly on the contact page.
– This update is still in testing and not yet available in the app.

I am personally excited about the option to use Google Contacts without a Google account. Providing users with choices on how they interact with an app is always beneficial. Although there’s no specific timeline for when these changes will officially roll out, we can expect them soon.

Stay tuned for more updates on these new features!
