Exciting News: Google’s June Pixel Feature Drop Expands to T-Mobile and Google Fi Customers!

Google Pixel users on T-Mobile and Google Fi Wireless can now rejoice as the June 2024 Feature Drop update, Android 14 QPR3, is finally making its way to their devices. Initially delayed and announced on June 11th, this update is now available for download.

Here are some key details about the update:

– The update initially reached some US users, excluding Verizon and T-Mobile customers.
– Verizon received the update last week.
– T-Mobile users are currently receiving the 894MB over-the-air (OTA) update with build number AP2A.240605.024.
– Australian carrier Telus received a different build (AP2A.240605.024.A1) on June 18th.

This update brings several enhancements for Pixel users, including:

– An update to the Google Phone app with a new “Lookup” feature to identify unknown numbers.
– Upgrades to Pixel Recorder with a new “Record” app shortcut for easier audio recordings.
– The introduction of Pixel VPN by Google, with exclusive features for QPR3 users.

Some exclusive features for QPR3 users include DisplayPort Support for Google Pixel 8 Pro and Gemini Nano support for Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8a. These additions enhance connectivity options and improve overall phone performance with various bug fixes.

It’s worth mentioning that this update precedes the July monthly update by just a week. While it’s great to see consistent updates from Google, some users still have to wait for carriers to release them. Hopefully, in the future, all Pixel (and Android) users will receive updates promptly and without delays. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Phones Canada!
