Exciting News: Potential Release of New AirPods Model with Active Noise Cancellation in 2021

Apple is gearing up to launch two new AirPods models this year, replacing the second and third-generation versions. According to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, Apple will introduce a new entry-level AirPods variant with the model number B768(E) and a mid-tier version with the model number B768(M). Production is set to commence in May at GoerTek Inc. and Luxshare Precision Industry Co. facilities, with an expected release date in September or October.

Key highlights of the new AirPods include:
– Fresh design for better fit
– USB-C charging port on the cases instead of Lightning port
– Mid-tier model featuring active noise cancellation (a first for non-AirPods Pro models)
– Find My speakers feature on the case to locate misplaced earbuds

Apple plans to ramp up production significantly, aiming to manufacture 20-25 million units of the new AirPods this year. Additionally, software-related updates are expected with iOS 18 release, including a hearing aid mode for AirPods Pro users, allowing them to use the premium earbuds as a hearing aid.

Looking ahead, Apple is exploring innovative features for future AirPods models:
– Possibility of adding a hearing test function
– Development of an AirPods model equipped with a low-resolution camera to show surroundings

Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting developments from Apple as they continue to innovate in the realm of wireless audio technology.
