WhatsApp is always finding new ways to make your messaging experience more enjoyable, and a recent discovery in the app’s code hints at an exciting feature on the horizon. Soon, you might be able to attach audio files to your WhatsApp channels, opening up a world of possibilities for sharing content with your favorite brands, groups, or topics.
In January, WhatsApp introduced voice notes and polls in channels, which were great additions. However, the ability to share audio files like music or recordings from your phone has been limited compared to apps like Telegram. But change could be coming soon.
An Android Developer named AssembleDebug from TheSPAndroid found a hidden feature within WhatsApp that allows users to send audio files directly within channels. This functionality works just like sending an audio file in a regular chat or group. During testing, it was observed that shared music files are distinguished by a headphone icon, while voice notes have a microphone icon.
While this capability has been available in regular chats and groups on WhatsApp for some time now, it was missing when the Channels feature was introduced. The official rollout date for this feature is still unknown, but the fact that it’s already in the code is a promising sign.
Although sharing audio files on WhatsApp channels isn’t possible yet, it could soon become a fantastic way to share recording sessions, sample music, or interesting audio recordings captured on your phone with your followers. Just remember to respect copyright and privacy laws in your region when sharing content.
Exciting updates may be on the way for WhatsApp users who love engaging with their favorite brands and topics through audio content. Stay tuned for more news on this upcoming feature!
