Exclusive: Apple Rolls Out Limited iOS 18 Update for Select Users

Apple has started sending out early versions of iOS 18 to select individuals, even before its official launch expected in September. This move gives us a sneak peek into the exciting new features we can expect on the next build of Apple’s smartphone operating system.

According to reports, internal builds of iOS 18, known as “VendorUI,” are currently being sent to factories and vendors associated with iPhone production. This version is strictly controlled and is primarily used for quality control testing before the official release.

The heavily guarded “VendorUI” version of iOS 18 may contain references to new features, settings, and branding changes. It comes with certain apps missing, including only those necessary for testing purposes.

iOS 18 is anticipated to bring significant advancements in AI technology. New AI-based accessibility features like Voice Shortcuts are expected to empower users with voice-controlled access to various accessibility features like VoiceOver and Voice Control.

Each version of iOS serves a specific purpose:
– Release version: Consumers receive this finalized version every September.
– InternalUI version: Intended for Apple’s software engineers with unreleased features and pre-production UI.
– VendorUI version: Currently being distributed for quality control in factories, may include pre-production UI elements.
– NonUI version: Designed for hardware engineers and calibration machines without standard UI.
– LLDiags version: Reserved for low-level diagnostics with minimal UI elements.

Stay tuned as we anticipate more exciting updates on iOS 18 during Apple’s upcoming WWDC developers conference in June!
