Apple is gearing up to launch its latest flagship iPhones, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, with larger displays than ever before. The new models will feature screens measuring 6.3 and 6.9 inches, offering users a more immersive viewing experience.

Leakers UniverseIce and Instant Digital have revealed that despite the increase in screen size, Apple has managed to reduce the bezel thickness significantly. This means that the new iPhones will have slimmer borders, giving them a sleek and modern look.

Apple introduced the Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology this year, building upon last year’s low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO) technology. This advancement allows for a more compact layout of the circuitry beneath the display, resulting in even narrower bezels.

The iPhone 16 Pro will have a screen border of just 1.2 mm, down from 1.71 mm, marking a 30% reduction. The larger iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a border of 1.15 mm, reduced from 1.55 mm, representing a 26% reduction.

Compared to competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with a border of 1.5 mm, Apple’s new models could potentially have the narrowest screen frames in the world.

For users upgrading from an iPhone 15 Pro model, the difference in screen border may seem subtle at first glance. However, when combined with the larger displays on the iPhone 16 Pro models, the slimmer borders are likely to make a noticeable impact when holding and using the phone.

In addition to slimmer bezels, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max come with several other upgrades such as advanced camera technology, a new Capture button, improved modem chips, and exciting new color options.
