Samsung is gearing up for its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, but that’s not the only thing on their agenda. Currently, someone out there is already playing around with One UI 7 – Samsung’s user interface skin of Android 15! This time, it’s a Galaxy S23 Ultra unit that’s ahead of the game.
The well-known leaker Tarun Vats recently spotted the One UI 7-packed Galaxy S23 Ultra, following his earlier reveal of the Galaxy S24+. The Galaxy S24+ scored impressively on Geekbench with 2114 points in single-core and 6616 in multi-core tests – a significant improvement over its predecessor running on Android 14.
The device showcasing One UI 7 is a US carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. With Google announcing the platform stability of Android 15, Samsung appears to be testing it on current phones before rolling it out for public beta testing through the One UI 7.0 Beta Program in the near future.
Samsung is anticipated to initiate the One UI 7.0 Beta Program starting with the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 before extending it to Galaxy S23 series users. After a brief testing period (likely around 2-3 months), Samsung may release the stable version of One UI 7 for compatible high-end phones from the Galaxy S and Z series.
Once the One UI 7.0 update rolls out for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, two more Android OS updates will be available for this device. Samsung has committed to providing four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates for the entire Galaxy S23 series, including devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.
Looking ahead, it’s expected that devices such as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 will receive up to seven years of Android OS updates and security patches – showcasing Samsung’s dedication to keeping their devices up-to-date for years to come.
