Genshin Impact Creator Takes Legal Action Against Cheat Makers and Teases New Playable Geo Character for March

Genshin Impact Creator Sues Cheat Makers and Introduces New Playable Character

When we think of cheating in video games, we might reminisce about the good old days of “Age of Empires II” when typing “how do you turn this on” would summon a Shelby Cobra car equipped with a machine gun. However, cheating can quickly become tiresome and ruin the gaming experience. The creators of Genshin Impact, HoYoverse, have taken a stand against cheaters and are now suing cheat creators in a Canadian court.

The lawsuit targets individuals responsible for developing and distributing cheating tools like Akebi GC, Acrepi, and Genshin XYZ, which unfairly give users advantages such as rapid progression and bypassing purchase prompts. These cheats disrupt game balance, tarnish the developers’ reputation, and result in financial losses due to the resources invested in detecting and banning cheaters. The claim seeks to recover damages exceeding $50,000.

In more exciting news for Genshin Impact fans, a new playable character named Chiori is set to enter the game with the 4.5 update in mid-March 2024. Chiori is a 5-star Geo character with unique combat abilities that promise to bring a fresh gameplay experience.

Chiori was initially introduced as an NPC in Version 4.3 and has been highly anticipated since being mentioned by another character in Version 3.7. She will wear an elegant Inazuman outfit and specialize in Geo damage using twin blades. Her exclusive weapon, Urakugo Sensai, enhances her off-field damage abilities.

One of Chiori’s standout features is her elemental skill called “Fluttering Hasode,” which summons little dolls to attack enemies based on both attack (ATK) and defense (DEF) stats.

With these developments, Genshin Impact continues to evolve while maintaining its commitment to fair play and an engaging gaming experience for its community of players.
