Phones Canada is excited to share the latest news from the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS) regarding its 2023 Compliance Report Cards. This report highlights the compliance levels of various telecom and TV service providers with the CCTS’s complaint-handling requirements. Here are some key takeaways:

– **Fully Compliant Providers**: 18 providers, including Bell, Fido, Shaw, and others, were fully compliant from the start.
– **Partial Compliance**: After engagement efforts from CCTS, all 28 providers with initial compliance issues are now fully compliant.
– **Non-Compliant Providers**: Unfortunately, 5 providers failed to respond and rectify issues, remaining non-compliant.

The report also revealed some interesting findings:

– 35% of audited providers fully complied with website requirements to inform customers about the CCTS.
– 52% of provider websites lacked accessible complaints sections, with Rogers and Telus specifically called out for non-compliance in certain areas.
– Missing key words on French and English residential websites were also flagged as concerning by the CCTS.

Janet Lo, Assistant Commissioner for Legal, Regulatory and Stakeholder Affairs at CCTS, emphasized the importance of engaging with service providers to educate them about their obligations. This ensures that customers can easily access information about how to utilize CCTS’s dispute resolution service when needed.

At Phones Canada, we value transparency and compliance in the telecom industry. It’s essential for service providers to uphold these standards to provide customers with a seamless experience. Stay tuned for more updates on telecommunications news and trends!
