Google introduces new Pixel diagnostic app and repair manuals to enhance repair options

Google has just introduced the Pixel Diagnostic app for Pixel phone users, offering a convenient way to troubleshoot devices before and after repairs. The app is accessible through the Phone app and is accompanied by user-friendly repair manuals available through Google Help.

The updated repair manuals aim to streamline the repair process for technicians and DIY enthusiasts, covering a range of Pixel devices including older models like the Pixel 2, as well as newer ones like the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.

Google’s DIY program is available in various regions where Pixel phones and Pixel Tablets are sold, and the company has partnered with independent repair providers, offering support at over 700 locations across the US. Additionally, users now have access to genuine spare parts, repair fixtures, and tools from iFixit and Shyft Global Services.

For those visiting repair centers, Google has rolled out a new Repair Mode feature, safeguarding user data during repairs without the need for time-consuming backups and data restoration processes.

Overall, these DIY repair programs reflect a more user-friendly and eco-conscious approach in the smartphone industry, empowering users and aligning with sustainability goals by extending the life of smartphones.
