Google Revamps Fitbit Experience: Say Goodbye to Web Dashboard, Hello to Mobile App

We are excited to share that starting July 8, 2024, Fitbit.com dashboard will be replaced by the Fitbit app, as announced by Google. This transition means that Fitbit users will need to rely solely on the mobile app for tracking and managing their data.

When Fitbit was launched, the Fitbit.com web dashboard provided users with a new way to interact with and log their data. Since then, the Fitbit app has been introduced, offering a comprehensive health and wellness experience that includes all the features users love from the web dashboard along with additional app-exclusive features.

While Google states that all data and features from the Fitbit.com dashboard are available in the app, some key features currently present on the web dashboard are not available in the mobile app. For example, users cannot track calories left to eat based on activity or create meals and add missed workouts. Pace charts are also unavailable on the mobile app.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Google will add these missing features to the mobile app or improve it significantly. Therefore, we recommend considering switching to another smartwatch brand like Garmin for a more comprehensive experience.

Despite these changes, there is a workaround that allows users to still access the Fitbit.com dashboard. By clicking on the “If you miss the old look, head over to browser view” link below the mobile app download links on the redirect page, users can continue using the web dashboard temporarily.

It is uncertain how long this workaround will be available as Google may remove it completely on July 8. We advise taking advantage of this temporary solution while it lasts. Stay tuned for more updates on this transition!
